Folds of Honor Charity Tee
We are happy to announce the launch of our exclusive Folds of Honor charity tee shirt and hoodie available at flagandanthem.com. It is part of our Desert Son collection which we’ve created in collaboration with Dierks Bentley, and 100% of the proceeds of our Folds of Honor Camo Riser Tee and Folds of Honor Camo Riser Hoodie will go towards Folds of Honor, a non-profit charity providing educational scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service-members.
In 2007 Major Dan Rooney, an F-16 Fighter Pilot in the Oklahoma Air National Guard, realized upon returning home from his second tour of duty in Iraq the reality military families face when impacted by war, and thus Folds of Honor was founded. Using the motto “Honor Their Sacrifice. Educate Their Legacy,” Folds of Honor was able to provide more than $22 million in the form of 4,500 educational scholarships to military families in 2019!
At Flag & Anthem, we appreciate our troops and we are thrilled to participate in raising more money for Folds of Honor. This is also a very important cause for Dierks Bentley who said, "I am on the road two, three days or a couple weeks at a time, and that seems like a long time to be away from my family. Our service men and women spend months and years away at a time, so on the most basic level that huge sacrifice is just the beginning of what they do every day for this country." Both Bentley's father and grandfather served in the Army, and he is quick to point out that, "it is a privilege for me to help with their [Folds of Honor] commitment to provide scholarships to these spouses and children."
Dierks unofficially debuted the new Desert Son Folds of Honor Camo Riser tee at his show at West Point’s Michie Stadium which was also a point of pride for Dierks. "I meet so many service men, women and their families on the road that it was honor to play at West Point on their turf."
In the 95 year history of Michie stadium the venue has hosted many events from commencement ceremonies to football games, and was even named the #3 best sports venue of the 20th Century by Sports Illustrated. However, it has never hosted a concert! Dierks was honored to have been the first musical act in the stadium’s rich history, and we were more than honored to have him wear our Folds of Honor tee, especially knowing it will increase the exposure of the shirt and we can cut a bigger check to Folds of Honor!
